Support Me
Right — this is the begging bit.
Everything I make is free or nearly free. No ads, no tracking, no data sold, and nobody sitting behind me waiting for a return on their money. That works because I keep my costs low and my expectations lower.
It works considerably better when somebody chips in. 🫙

Where It Actually Goes
No mystery, no overheads.
There is no office, no team and no marketing budget. There is a desk, a laptop and a list of bills.
Apple's rent
$99 a year to Apple before a single person has downloaded anything. That bill arrives whether or not I shipped.
The boring monthly ones
Domains, servers, the database this very page is talking to. Small numbers that add up to the reason everything here is free.
The machine
Everything I make is built on one laptop. One day it will die, loudly, and probably at the worst moment.
Hours
The honest one. Every hour that gets funded is an hour I don't have to go and earn somewhere else, and it goes straight back into the apps.
What Donating Does Not Buy You
This matters more to me than the money, so it goes in writing:
- Nothing gets unlocked. No supporter tier, no badge, no early access you couldn't have had anyway. If a feature exists, everyone gets it.
- No influence over what I build. Ideas are welcome from anyone, and money doesn't move you up that queue.
- No list. I don't keep a record of who donated. Stripe has to hold the payment, and that's the only place it lives — there's no donor table on my side and no thank-you newsletter, because there is no newsletter.
If donating bought something, it would stop being a donation and start being a product, and then I'd have to build the thing I promised instead of the thing that needs building.
Please Don't, If…
- money is tight. It is for a lot of people right now, and it has been for me.
- it isn't your money to give.
- you feel even slightly obliged. That's the opposite of the point.
I would genuinely rather you used the apps, got some value out of them, and told me when one of them did something stupid.
Free Ways To Help, Which Are Just As Good
-
Tell one person.
Not a crowd. One person who'd actually like it. That does more than you'd think and it costs you a text message.
-
Tell me what's broken.
A bug report is worth real money to me, because I cannot test eleven apps on every machine in the world by myself. Raise a ticket.
-
Break an early build.
The beta crew see everything before anyone else and get a real say in what gets fixed. It costs nothing but a bit of your time. Join the beta crew.
-
Leave a review when something ships.
Nothing has shipped yet. When it does, three sentences from a stranger moves the needle more than I'd like to admit.
Thank you for reading the whole beg. That alone puts you ahead of most people, and it cost you nothing.
