Chapter And Verse
State an opinion. Get the strongest scriptural case for it, against it, or both — with the real verses.
Chapter And Verse takes a position in plain English — "divorce is always wrong," "wealth is a blessing," anything — and builds the strongest case scripture makes for it, against it, or both at once. Every reference is resolved against a full Bible on your phone, and the verse text you read is the verse text, not a model's paraphrase.
It never tells you you're right. Sometimes it tells you scripture doesn't actually address the question. That's the point.
Real Verses, Checked
The model only proposes references. The app looks each one up in the bundled Bible (BSB, WEB and KJV) and drops anything it can't find — and shows you how many it dropped.
Both Sides By Default
Case For and Case Against are one tap apart, and Both is the default. It's built for honest study, not for winning an argument.
No Server, No Account
The free tier runs entirely on your iPhone. Bring your own key for a bigger model if you like; your questions go straight from your phone to that provider and nowhere else.
How It Treats Your Data
There are no accounts and no server. Your questions stay on your phone unless you add your own API key, in which case they go directly to the provider you chose. Nothing is logged by me.
Price
Free. The built-in answers run on Apple's on-device model at no cost. If you want a bigger model, bring your own API key — Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, or a local Ollama — and pay that provider directly. Nothing goes through a server of mine.
Questions
Which translations are included?
Berean Standard Bible, World English Bible and the King James Version, plus Nave's and Torrey's topical indexes for finding passages.
Does it take a side on doctrine?
No. It shows what scripture says on each side and lets you weigh it. If the passages are thin, it says so.
