Chewsy

Two people, one code, and a stack of restaurants to swipe through.

Chewsy settles "where do you want to eat?" One of you starts a session, the other types in the four-digit code, and you both swipe through the same restaurants near you. When you've both said yes to the same place, it lights up.

When you're done, it shows everything you both liked — and if you still can't decide, a slot machine picks for you.

No Accounts

Nobody signs up. Your phone gets an anonymous identity that lets you resume a game if it's interrupted, and that's the extent of it.

One Deck, Two Phones

Both of you see the same restaurants in the same order, so a match means a match. Only one phone talks to the map service, so it's fast and cheap.

Made For Couples

It came out of a real argument in a real car. It's meant to take ninety seconds and end with dinner.

How It Treats Your Data

Your location is used to find nearby restaurants and isn't stored. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to delete.

Price

Free.

Questions

Does it work with more than two people?

Two for now. It's a couples app first.

Where does the restaurant data come from?

Google's places service, fetched once per session by the host's phone.

Can I resume a game if the app closes?

Yes — the same code brings you back to where you were.
